Leaf Pond (better not to ask) pours bourbon in a dive in Bardstown, Kentucky and spends time listening to people moan about the lives they’d always meant to lead. His parents left him a name he hates and just enough cash to buy a roadside music bar on its uppers.

But then three of Hell’s favorite wards crash through his door. Their official employment with the Pit starts at the end of the month and the only way out for them is a loophole older than the Demonic Court itself. But for that, they need a mortal who wants them and can survive being wanted back. However, the Big Bad Below has already sent his best Hunter, Mr. Addison, to bring them back…

Brenda’s the eldest and most sensible of the three. Peggy’s already issued duels to his jukebox, a horse, and the concept of Thursday. While Tammy’s the only one of them who’s bothered to read what their job contract actually says.
