But the powers-that-be had to go and make life complicated, didn’t they? You see, our new backyard sits right on top of a dimensional tear. Now we’ve got Abyssal monsters interrupting playtime, and my System interface nagging me to bring the sky-burning thunder. Again.
It’s all a bit of a hassle, to be honest.
But I guess someone has to keep the neighborhood standing. And with a heavily armed government operative masquerading as my daughter’s new teacher on one side, and a shapeshifting bear who bakes a brilliant scone on the other — both of them taking a pointed interest in the single dad next door — I’m sure we’ll get it sorted.
Hopefully, before the world ends. Or the HOA fines me for the state of my lawn.
